EARLY BACKGROUND:
Born in Oak Park, Illinois 1940 and childhood spent in small town, Northlake, Illinois. High School National Honor Society and athlete in baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, track and tennis. First Chair percussionist in high school band and Community Orchestras.

EDUCATION:
	• Beloit College, Beloit, WI. 1958-1963. B.A. degree in Government/Political Science. Full academic/need scholarship (room, board and tuition). Porter Scholar (top 5% entering students). Studied International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland on Johnson Foundation Scholarship. Varsity Wrestling, Treasurer of Beta Theta Pi  fraternity.
	
• Washburn University, Topeka, KA.  1967 Post-graduate courses in Business Law and Investments.

	• LaVerne University Law School,  LaVerne, CA. 1975-1978.  60 semester hours of law school completed in top quartile of class.  

MILITARY EXPERIENCE:
	USAF, Captain, Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Active duty; 1963 – 1969, Active Reserves; 1969 -1971. Duties as Flightline Maintenance Officer and Commander of 2 Field Training Detachments. Received Air Force Commendation Medal for action as Squadron Maintenance Officer in Cam Ranh Bay and Nha Trang, Vietnam.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
	Delger Corporation, 1969-1971; Registered Representative, National Association of Security Dealers, Charter Member, International Association of Financial Counselors. Held both securities licenses and life and health insurance licenses.

	Ormco Corp., 1971 – 1996, Marketing Executive. Positions held in chronological order were: 
        Advertising and Sales Promotion Manager, 
        Account Services Manager
        Product Manager
        Senior Product Manager
        Sybron President’s Achievement Award 1983. (One of 7 out of 6,000).
        Director, Product Development 
        Director, Professional Liaison. 
        Corporate Executive Team Member 1988-1994
        Established the “Lingual Task Force” and traveled to Europe and Asia, teaching a new orthodontic treatment modality. 
        Created the prestigeous “Insiders Club” (Marketing and R&D interface).
        Established the “Gorman Institute for Practice Enhancement”, an educational institute which draws close to 1000 orthodontists and staff annually.
        Retired at age 56 in 1996.
SEDONA  EXPERIENCE:
	Purchased property - 1992, frequent visitor until move to Sedona in 1997.

Married 53 years to Karen Lee Strauch, active in many local groups. One married daughter, Cinda Michelle Strauch, in Bend Oregon.

INTERESTS: 
	Avid golfer, horseman and downhill skier. Enjoy hiking when not riding, love music and art.  A “preservationist”, I want to be remembered as having earned the title, “Steward of one of the Earth’s Great Treasures”.
